8:4. ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ, ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವುದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಾನು ಹೇಳುವುದೇನೆಂದರೆ: ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಗ್ರಹವು ಕ್ಷುಲ್ಲಕವಾದದ್ದೆಂದು ನಮಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿದೆ. ಒಬ್ಬನೇ ಒಬ್ಬ ದೇವರಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂಬುದು ನಮಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿದೆ.

8:4. ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದವುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವದರ ವಿಷ ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ, ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಗ್ರಹವು ಏನೂ ಅಲ್ಲವೆಂದೂ ಒಬ್ಬ ದೇವರಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಹೊರತು ಬೇರೆ ದೇವರಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದೂ ನಾವು ಬಲ್ಲೆವು.

8:4. With regard then to eating food sacrificed to idols, we know that "an idol in this world is nothing," and that "there is no God but one."
